Former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka was admitted to Nawaloka Hospital after he threatened to stage a hunger strike if if the prison authorities failed to follow court orders, Mrs Anoma Fonseka said.
Mr.Fonseka charged that there was a delay in admitting him to the Hospital. Mrs. Fonseka said thet were waiting at the Nawaloka Hospital from 8.00am. She said he was finally brought to the hospital only at about 3.45p.m. and that too only after her husband had threatened to go on a hunger strike.
"My lungs were badly damaged in the war and they were made even worse after the imprisonment, this is what the government wanted. This is a country which does no follow court orders, "Fonseka charged.(Yohan)
